Yes, it has been a few months since I visited a new brewery. No, that does not mean that I have taken a break from Craft Beer. With all the traveling over the past year, the beer Cellars ( PA & WV) have accumulated quite an inventory. Some inventory reduction has been required. In addition Jeff introduced me to a brewery not far from his house, Adroit Theory Brewing. Located in Purcellville, VA., I have become a little involved and will brew a beer with them on October 9th. So if you are into barrel aged, small batch experimental beer.....Adroit Theory is a must stop for you. OK..enough of the commercial.......
- Chestnut Brew Works- I did not have to go far to find a brewery that I had not previously visited. Located in a neighborhood on the fringe of Morgantown, WV., Chestnut Brewery is a must visit if you are in the area ( Tasting room is open TH-Sat. 4PM-11PM). Many local establishments are serving their beer, so do not worry if the tasting room is not open. Amanda was serving the brews when I stopped by and her friendliness and hospitality made the visit very enjoyable. Brewer/Owner, Bill and Brewer assistant, Josh were also very friendly and enjoyed talking about their beer and craft beer in general. The tasting room had a small bar and a few tables, with a nice friendly crowd along with numerous people filling growlers for the weekend. There were a few food items on the menu if you are hungry. They had 5 brews on tap during my visit. The Shakedown IPA was my favorite followed by Nates Nutbrown, South Park Porter and Halleck Pale Ale. This was a great visit and a nice way to jump start the continuing Quest. Bill, I wish you much success and keep brewing the good beer.
